| With seven major waterways carving their way through Citrus County, waterfront property is in no short supply here! Major rivers include the Crystal River, Homosassa, Rainbow, and Withlacoochee rivers. A large lake chain, the Tsala Apopka lake chain, peppers its glassy surface across the easter portion of the county. And one can't forget the vast Gulf of Mexico, located on the west coast of the county. |

The eastern part of the county offers some of the most beautiful lakefront property around. Glimpse great blue herons, listen to bullfrogs bellow and crickets play their haunting tunes. Take a relaxing afternoon and quietly kayak or fish in the middle of Big Lake Henderson. Enjoy the sunrise from your backyard dock as the orange rays splash over the surface of the water. |

The Withlacoochee River winds its way through this part of the county as well. Offering some of the best bass fishing in the state, the Withlacoochee is perfect for nature lovers as well as boaters and fishermen. Most everyone can appreciate the naturally beautiful environment along the river's banks. And of course, there is plenty of prime waterfront property here.

The Crystal River and the Rainbow River are spring-fed beauties. Gently lolling along, the refreshing, year-round 72-degree waters provide excellent water recreation. The Rainbow River is particularly renowned for "tubing." Here, swimmers float down the river, carried by its current, for a few hours of peace and relaxation. The Crystal River and Homosassa River are more famous for what lives beneath the sparkling water: the manatee. During the winter months, these huge marine mammals flock to the warm river waters to wile the season away. At Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, one can view these gentle creatures face-to-face by delving into the Fish Bowl. A glass enclosure beneath the water's surface, the Fish Bowl allows thousands of visitors each year to glimpse these playful animals.

| Down the road is Kings Bay. Here, some of the nicest waterfront properties in the area are located. With a direct route to the Gulf of Mexico, this is perfect for boaters and recreational fishermen alike. The Gulf of Mexico is chock full of sport for fishermen. During tarpon season, some record-setting fish have been caught in these waters. |
